Community guidelines
MendMyPhone is maintained by its community. These guidelines keep it useful and fair for customers and repair shops.
Editing listings
- Only add information you know is accurate, from a visit, the shop’s own website or signage, or talking to the shop.
- Prices are guides. Enter the typical starting price for a common model, not a one-off quote.
- Check for duplicates before adding a new shop. Search by postcode first.
- No promotion. Descriptions should be factual. Avoid “best in town” claims, discount codes or keyword stuffing.
- Don’t sabotage competitors. Never mark a shop closed or remove services unless you know it’s true.
- Add a short summary explaining your change. It helps moderators approve it quickly.
Every edit is checked by a moderator before it’s published, and every published change is shown in the listing’s history.
Writing reviews
- Only review a shop you’ve used as a customer. One review per shop; you can update it later.
- Never review your own business, a business you work for, or a competitor.
- Describe your experience: what was repaired, the price, how long it took and how you were treated.
- No offensive language, personal information (names of staff are fine, phone numbers and addresses are not) or unproven accusations of crime.
Anyone can report a review that breaks these rules. Moderators may hide reviews that do.
Shop owners
Owners can claim their listing for a verified badge and the ability to reply to reviews. Replies should be polite and must not reveal customers’ personal details. Owners’ edits go through moderation like everyone else’s.
Enforcement
We may reject edits, hide reviews and suspend accounts that break these guidelines.
